Abs Workout Using an Exercise Ball
An exercise ball is a fun and effective device, used by fitness enthusiasts in toning their abdomen. One of the best abs exercises is the abdominal crunch which can be done best by use of an exercise ball. In performing the abdominal crunch, you sit on the ball with feet flat on the ground. While tightening the abs muscles, one must lean backward. After a few seconds, one can return to the original sitting position. For best results, ab workouts at home should be made up of two to three sets with twelve to sixteen repetitions per set.
Using the same exercise ball, one can lie on his/her back with his/her ankles atop the ball. The hands with palms down must be placed on the floor to maintain balance. Raise the hips in a thrusting motion but must be done slowly. Each set must be done with twelve to sixteen repetitions and each workout can have at most three sets. The plank is also another effective exercise routine which uses the ball. The ankles or thighs must be atop the exercise ball. Bring the body up like in a push-up position. Maintaining form is important is this kind of exercise. If one is unable to maintain form or if he/she gets tired, he/she can stop the exercise as soon as possible.
The abdominal ball raise is another effective abs workout to lose belly fat quickly. The ball must be at one’s feet while lying on one’s back. The ball must be grasped with the legs ensuring that the legs are at least hip width apart. The abs muscles must be tightened as the legs squeeze the ball. Still using the legs, the exercise ball must be raised off the floor while making sure that the abs muscles are tight. After a few seconds, the ball can be brought down to the floor and the whole routine is repeated continuously.
